Varsity Weekend Workshops

Who: For any current member of Reebok CrossFit FirePower Varsity program

What: A 90 minute workshop dedicated to high skill movement lead bytwo Varsity coaches. These are skill specific workshops, there will not be aworkout.

When: Offered every other Saturday through April and May at 1:30pm.  Participate in 1, 2, 3 or all 4.

Why: This program is designed to allow participants to focuson two skills each session. One skill will be barbell specific while the otheris a body weight, or gymnastic skill. By improving and understanding theseskills we hope to improve their performance in daily workouts.

Barbell: Participants will work toestablish and improve max load in several different barbell movements, underthe guidance of our coaching staff. Understanding current max loads ondifferent lifts will allow our members to have a better understanding of loadsto be used in daily workouts.

Gymnastics: Participants will be exposed totechnique as well as scaling work. Scaling properly to improve movement qualityis an important step in improving body control.

Outline of Skills to be covered

  • April8th:  Dead lifts / Handstand work
  • April22:  Strict Press / Ring work
  • May6: Back squat / Pull up work
  • May20:  Cleans / Bar muscle up work and climbing rope work

Teens may pick and choose which workshopsthey would like to attend. Each workshop will cost of $40.  Athletes must be signed up and paid by theThursday prior to the workshop (April 6, April 20, May 4 and May 18respectively).
